Hopewell Valley: Primary results

Hopewell Township, Pennington, and Hopewell Borough voters have their November election matchups for seats on the Hopewell Township Committee, Pennington Borough Council, and Hopewell Borough Council after the June 4 Democratic and Republican primaries.

Hopewell Township:

For one three-year term on the Township Committee, Deputy Mayor Uma Purandare (D), an incumbent, has earned the Democratic nomination in an uncontested primary and Republican candidate Bob Zansitis (R) secured the Republican nomination also in an uncontested primary.

In the Democratic primary, Purandare earned 1,652 votes as of June 10.

In the Republican primary, Zansitis received 481 votes and two write-in votes were cast.

Pennington:

Councilwoman Nadine Stern, an incumbent, and Daniel Rubenstein have secured the Democratic nominations in an uncontested primary for two three-year terms on the Pennington Borough Council.

There were no Republican candidates on the ballot.

Stern received 361 votes and Rubenstein received 348 votes as of June 10.

Hopewell Borough:

Incumbent Councilwoman Debra Stuhler and Marian Labos have each earned the Democratic nominations for two three-year terms on Hopewell Borough Council.

There were no Republican candidates on the ballot.

Stuhler received 314 votes and Labos 307 votes as of June 10.

The general election for each of the races is set to take place on Nov. 5.

The primary results reflect what has been posted online by the Mercer County Clerk’s Office as of June 10.

The results of the primary will remain unofficial until they are certified.
