The Lawrence Township Police Department is joining the “HERO CAMPAIGN.” The statewide initiative aims to prevent drunk driving deaths and injuries by promoting the use of designated drivers. The campaign was established in memory of U.S. Navy Ensign John R. Elliot from Little Egg Harbor Township, who tragically lost his life to a drunk driver just two months after graduating from the U.S. Naval Academy in July 2000.
