A crash between a motorcycle and a Honda sport utility vehicle sent the motorcycle driver to the hospital with a possible spinal cord injury Nov. 15, according to the East Windsor Police Department.

The crash occurred on Old York Road shortly before 8 a.m. A 60-year-old New Egypt man driving the Honda SUV allegedly made an improper U-turn in front of the Harley-Davidson motorcycle, police said.

The driver did not see the motorcycle traveling behind him and allegedly did not use the turn signal on his vehicle to indicate that he was making a U-turn, police said.

The motorcycle, driven by a 34-year-old Forked River man, struck the side of the Honda SUV and skidded across the road. It came to rest in the driveway of a home on Old York Road. The man was ejected from the motorcycle and landed on the front lawn near the motorcycle, police said.

The motorcycle driver suffered an apparent spinal cord injury and was taken to Capital Health Regional Medical Center in Trenton.

The Honda driver was issued summonses for careless driving and failure to use a turn signal.
