Police Chief Christopher Tash said their promotions were the culmination of years of unwavering dedication to the Princeton Police Department and to the Princeton community.

“The officers’ journey to this point reflects their perseverance, commitment and professionalism that defines the men and women of our department. I cannot be more proud of them,” Tash said.

The six police officers are fully prepared to embrace the new challenges and responsibilities that come with their promotions, he said.

“While we celebrate their accomplishments, we must also recognize the vital role their families and friends have played. Their encouragement has been instrumental in helping the officers to achieve this milestone in their careers,” Tash said.

Dawson graduated from the Burlington County Police Academy in 2004. He worked for the Burlington County Sheriff’s Department and the Mansfield Township Police Department, prior to being hired by the Princeton Police Department in 2015. He has served in the patrol and detective bureaus.

He is trained as a Community Law Enforcement Affirmative Relations (CLEAR) and crisis de-escalation instructor.

He was hired fulltime by the Mansfield Township Police Department in 2005, and by the Princeton Police Department in 2015. He has served in the patrol and detective bureaus.

Ehnstrom serves as a field training office, firearms instructor and Megan’s Law liaison. He is a member of the Princeton Police Department’s Serious Collision Response Team. He has received the Mothers Against Drunk Driving Award and the Patrolman Walter E. Harris Meritorious Service Award.
