A 38-year-old Princeton man was charged with weapons offenses following an investigation into reports of a man with a knife on Clay Street Jan. 1. The man was charged with possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, unlawful possession of a weapon and defiant trespass. He was processed and taken to the Mercer County Correction Center.
A burglar pried open a vehicle that was parked on Alexander Street Dec. 30 and stole the victim’s debit card. The suspect attempted to use it to make a purchase in another town, but it was declined by the victim’s bank.
A victim reported that his vehicle was burglarized while it was parked on Mountain Avenue Dec. 29. The burglar took cash and credit cards from the vehicle. The credit cards were used to make several purchases in other towns.
A Highland Terrace home was entered Dec. 28 by burglars who forced open a window to get inside. Police discovered the burglary when they responded to an activated burglar alarm. It is not known whether anything was taken from the house.
Two shoplifters stole an assortment of merchandise valued at $110 from a store on North Harrison Street Dec. 26, but dropped the items as they fled.
An attempted burglar to a Farrand Road home was reported Dec. 25. Police responded to an activated burglar alarm and discovered that burglars had attempted to get inside the house through a locked window that they had opened by breaking the glass. They fled before police arrived.
A 41-year-old Princeton man was charged with driving while intoxicated following a motor vehicle stop on John Street at 2:14 a.m. Dec. 24. He was also charged with reckless driving, failure to keep right and having an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle. He was processed and released.
A 31-year-old Bradley Beach man was charged with driving while intoxicated after he was stopped by police on Battle Road at 2:22 a.m. Dec. 19. He was also charged with reckless driving, failure to stop/yield at a stop sign, failure to keep right, improper left turn, failure to use lamps and refusal to take a breath test. He was processed and released.
A 22-year-old Penns Grove woman was charged with theft of identity, tampering with public records, forgery, hindering apprehension and making false statements to obtain a fraudulent credit card Dec. 19 following an investigation into an attempted fraud at a Nassau Street bank. She was processed and released.
A 43-year-old Princeton man was charged with shoplifting and defiant trespass Dec. 19 after police responded to a store on North Harrison Street for a shoplifting incident. He was processed and released.
