Members of the Cranbury Township Board of Education have re-elected Pramod Chivate to serve as school board president for 2025.
Chivate, who has been on the school board for about 13 years, has held the position of school board president since 2022.
He was re-elected to the nine-member school board during the board’s annual reorganization meeting on Jan. 8. Board member Katherine Lara nominated Chivate for president.
For vice president, board member Milton Georges nominated Serhope Sarkuni and was unanimously elected.
Before the elections of president and vice president, Emma Bossard, Katherine Lara, and Melissa Marschner, who ran uncontested in the November election, were each sworn in to serve their three-year terms on the school board.
They were each administered their oaths of office by School Business Administrator Karin Weiner.
Bossard and Lara begin their second terms and Marschner begins her first term.
The nine-member school board currently has one vacancy seat.
The school board currently consists of Chivate, Sarkuni, Georges, Bossard, Lara, Marschner, Vikal Kapoor and Les Polk.
