A 42-year-old Manalapan Township resident has been charged with multiple counts of drug offenses and motor vehicle violations after being stopped by a police officer for weaving on Jan. 22, according to the East Windsor Police Department.

A K-9 unit from the Robbinsville Township Police Department was called in. The K-9 dog gave a positive indication of narcotics, which led to a search of the vehicle, police said.

The search turned up numerous prescription drugs for which the driver did not have valid prescriptions, police said. The driver was also found to be in possession of suspected crack cocaine.

The driver was charged with four counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance, one count of possession of drug paraphernalia, operating a motor vehicle while in possession of a controlled dangerous substance, and failure to maintain lane, police said.

The driver was processed and released.
