Bordentown Township invites residents to participate in its Community Garden, located on West Constitution Drive. The garden offers 19 organic plots for rent, providing space to grow “your own fruits, vegetables, and flowers.” All gardeners must follow organic farming practices, and plots are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.

Each household can lease one plot to start, and if there are any left after April 15, households will have the opportunity to lease a second plot (limit two per household). To reserve a plot, simply pay the Township Clerk by cash or check—there are no holds without payment.

The garden also supports local food pantries. In unrented plots, volunteers grow and harvest organic crops for donation—up to half a ton of produce has been donated in recent years! We’re always looking for volunteers to help maintain the garden and assist with donations. For more information or to get involved, email environmentalcommission@bordentowntownship.org.

The Environmental Commission is available for those new to gardening and those looking for tips. Weather permitting, the garden will open in May.
