The Hopewell Valley Regional Board of Education has approved a new contract for Superintendent of Schools, Rosetta Treece, which extends her leadership of the school district to the 2028-29 school year.
School board members awarded the new three-year contract to Treece when members voted in their July 20 regular meeting.
“We have our contract for our superintendent, which we are very excited to get passed and continue on our journey with her. Thank you Dr. Treece,” Board member Mark Peters said.
Treece’s total base for the next three school years will be $243,000 for 2026-27, $251,262 for 2027-28, and $259,085 for 2028-29.
She is receiving 12 days of sick leave and 25 days of paid vacation.
Treece has been leading the school district’s administration as superintendent of schools since 2021.
When the school board named her superintendent, she succeeded former Superintendent of Schools Thomas Smith, who had retired from the district to become the next superintendent of the Pennsbury School District in Pennsylvania.
The school district was not unfamiliar to Treece when she was chosen for the top job in administration.
Prior to becoming superintendent, she had served as assistant superintendent, director of curriculum and instruction, principal of Timberlane Middle School (TMS), and vice principal of TMS over the course of her 13 years in the school district.
She has more than 20 years of experience in education as a high school English teacher, a literacy coach for secondary schools, and assistant principal in other New Jersey public schools, according to HVRSD.
Additionally, she has a bachelor’s degree in English secondary education from The College of New Jersey (TCNJ), a master’s degree in educational leadership from Grand Canyon University, and a doctorate in educational leadership from Rowan University.
