Bordentown Township seeks public outreach coordinator

Bordentown Township is seeking a new administrative position to enhance public outreach, communications and community relations.

The new position titled Public Outreach and Community relations Coordinator/Deputy Township Administrator, will be responsible for managing the township’s social media, website, mobile app, and other external communications channels, according to the job posting which the township posted on its Facebook page.

This role will work closely with the Township Administrator Michael P. Theokas and all department heads to ensure clear, consistent, and proactive communication of the township’s message to the public.

In addition to communications duties, the position will have the responsibility to monitor and identify grant opportunities that can benefit the township and its residents.

This includes researching, evaluating, and assisting in the application process for grants that align with community development, public services, and other key priorities.

The role will also provide support in cyber security and IT (information technology) management, ensuring the township’s systems remain secure and efficient. The employee will assist in managing the township’s participation in the joint insurance fund, collaborating with relevant stakeholders to maintain compliance and optimize coverage.

Hours may be flexible, but attendance at certain township events will be required to ensure engagement with the community and to fulfill responsibilities in person as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and update the Township’s social media, website, and mobile app.
  • Work with department heads to develop and deliver clear, effective messages to the public.
  • Monitor and identify relevant grant opportunities to support the Township’s goals and community needs.
  • Assist in researching, applying for, and tracking the progress of community-oriented grants.
  • Support cyber security initiatives and IT management for Township systems.
  • Contribute to the township’s participation in the joint insurance fund.
  • Attend and support township events as needed.

The position offers an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping communication efforts and securing resources that benefit the Bordentown community. Salary is dependent on qualifications.
