Boy Scouts earn fishing merit badges

Scouts in Boy Scout Troop 52 have completed their fishing and fly fishing merit badges.

To earn their fly fishing merit badges, the scouts had to match a fly rod, line, and leader to achieve a balance system, according to Scouting America.

They also had to demonstrate how to tie proper knots to prepare a fly fishing rod for fishing.

For the fishing merit badge, the scouts had to demonstrate the proper use of two different types of fishing equipment and also how to tie knots.
