He was re-elected to the nine-member school board during the board’s annual reorganization meeting on Jan. 8. Board member Katherine Lara nominated Chivate for president.

For vice president, board member Milton Georges nominated Serhope Sarkuni and was unanimously elected.

Before the elections of president and vice president, Emma Bossard, Katherine Lara, and Melissa Marschner, who ran uncontested in the November election, were each sworn in to serve their three-year terms on the school board.

They were each administered their oaths of office by School Business Administrator Karin Weiner.

Bossard and Lara begin their second terms and Marschner begins her first term.

The nine-member school board currently has one vacancy seat.

The school board currently consists of Chivate, Sarkuni, Georges, Bossard, Lara, Marschner, Vikal Kapoor and Les Polk.
