Volunteer firefighters quickly knocked down the fire and held it to the room where it started, according to a Facebook post by East Windsor Volunteer Fire Co. No. 2. The cause of the fire is believed to be non-suspicious.

The townhouse suffered fire and water damage, and was deemed uninhabitable, police said. The displaced residents made temporary arrangements to stay at alternative locations.

There were no injuries to firefighters, residents or police officers.

Firefighters from East Windsor Township, Monroe Township, Hightstown, Robbinsville Township, Millstone Township and Plainsboro Township responded to the fire. Capital Health EMS also responded to the scene.
