Man charged with carrying unregistered firearm

A 76-year-old Skillman man is facing weapons charges after he was allegedly found to be openly carrying a firearm in a store on Nassau Street on Feb. 10, according to the Princeton Police Department.

Officers found a man in the area who matched the description provided by witnesses. An investigation revealed that he allegedly had an unregistered firearm, hollow point bullets and pepper spray in his possession.

The man was charged with unlawful possession of a handgun, possession of hollow point ammunition and unlawful possession of a weapon.

He was processed and released.
