A 64-year-old Skillman man was killed when his 2017 Subaru struck the rear of a 2019 International delivery truck on Route 206 in front of the Nassau Tennis Club on Feb. 19, according to the Montgomery Township Police Department.
The Subaru and the delivery truck, which was driven by a 44-year-old Burlington man, were both traveling north when the crash occurred around 10 a.m., police said.
The Subaru driver was trapped inside the vehicle and had to be extricated by first responders, police said. He was taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, where he later died.
The truck driver was taken to Robert Wood Johnson Hospital – Somerset for treatment of non-life threatening injuries, police said.
The crash, which closed Route 206 for about three hours, is under investigation by the Montgomery Township Police Department and the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Collision Analysis Reconstruction Team. No summonses have been issued.
The Montgomery EMS, Montgomery Volunteer Fire Cos. No. 1 and No. 2, the New Jersey Department of Transportation and New Jersey State Police incident management response team and paramedics from the Robert Wood Johnson Hospital System assisted at the scene.
