Man exposes self to jogger on D&R Canal towpath

Princeton police are searching for a man who allegedly exposed himself to a woman jogger on the D&R Canal towpath Aug. 26.

The woman was jogging on a section of the towpath west of Alexander Street at 5:50 p.m. when the man allegedly exposed himself, police said.

He ran off immediately after the incident toward West Windsor Township. Police searched the area, but could not find him.

The suspect, whose face was covered, was carrying a black backpack. He was holding a sweater, police said.

Police have advised against jogging or walking alone if possible, and to stay on marked trails. Avoid venturing into unknown or secluded areas.

Joggers and pedestrians should stay alert to their surroundings and practice situational awareness.

A cellphone should be carried for emergencies.

Suspicious activity or behavior should be reported immediately by calling 9-1-1, police said.
