Man faces multiple charges

A 37-year-old East Windsor Township man is facing multiple charges after he fled from a police officer who had observed him drinking an alcoholic beverage in public, according to the East Windsor Police Department.

A police officer saw the man allegedly consuming alcoholic beverages on Avon Drive, near the Quad 3 pool, at 3:20 p.m. Nov. 17, police said.

The man allegedly fled from the police officer, who immediately chased him. The officer caught the man after a brief foot pursuit.

He was charged with consuming alcohol in public and obstructing by flight for allegedly running away from the police officer.

The man was processed and released.
