Man arrested on drug charges

A 38-year-old Monroe Township resident was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle on Feb. 28, according to the East Windsor Police Department.

The police officer stopped to investigate a suspicious vehicle, which was parked at the Shell gas station on Lake Drive. As the police officer spoke to the suspect, he noticed signs of narcotics activity.

The Robbinsville Township Police Department responded with its K-9 unit. The K-9 dog gave a positive indication of narcotics in the motor vehicle, which led the officer to search it. Suspected heroin was found in the vehicle.

The suspect was processed and released on a complaint summons.
