A police officer put on a personal flotation device with a safety rope that was held by another officer. He walked out onto the frozen ice, grabbed the dog’s harness and pulled the dog out of the water. The dog was taken to a local animal hospital for evaluation.

A 34-year-old East Hanover woman was charged with driving while intoxicated, careless driving, reckless driving, refusal to submit to a breath test and having an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle following a one-car crash on River Road near Blue Spring Road at 12:58 a.m. Jan. 19.
