Work moves ahead on improvements to Hopewell Borough’s public works facility.

Borough Council members awarded architecture services to Ronica Bregenzer, Architect LLC, based in Princeton for $74,280 and engineering services to Boswell Engineering, Inc in South Hackensack for $138,200 at a meeting in December.

The borough’s Department of Public Works (DPW) facility, which is located at 11 Burton Ave., is in need of improvements and repairs including plumbing.

In June 2024, Hopewell Borough adopted an ordinance appropriating $199,500 about $200,000 from American Rescue Plan (ARP) federal funds towards those improvements and repairs. Funding from ARP will not cover the full amount for improvements.

Borough Administrator Doug Walker noted at the time that the capital project for the DPW facility is projected to be between $1.6 million to $1.8 million.
