Hillsborough Township’s Parks & Recreation Department was recognized at the 2025 Annual New Jersey Recreation and Parks Association (NJRPA) conference for its Park Map pamphlets project.
The NJRPA awards were held in Atlantic City on Feb. 25 to recognize dedicated park and recreation leaders, employees, and volunteers and to recognize the state’s outstanding Parks and Recreation agencies for excellence in programming, publicity, and facility design.
“I’m proud of the hard work the township has committed to making the Park Map pamphlets project a reality,” Director of Parks & Recreation Griffin Dunne said. “This has been a long-time request from community members, and it was our pleasure to create park maps that are dedicated to providing facility specs and park amenities to the residents of Hillsborough.”
Honored under the “Brochure or Newsletter” category, the Hillsborough Township Parks & Recreation team won the Agency Showcase Award for their Hillsborough Township Park Maps.
“Congratulations to Hillsborough’s Recreation Department on being recognized by the NJRPA for the third year in a row,” Mayor John Ciccarelli noted at the March 11th Township Committee meeting.
The Agency Showcase Awards recognize outstanding marketing campaigns and promotional materials which encourage participation in recreation activities or promote health and wellness programs.
The goal of the Awards Program is to focus state-wide attention on the achievement of Park and Recreation agencies, to recognize the continuing efforts of staff and volunteers, and to acknowledge support extended by member agencies, according to its website.
The Hillsborough Department of Parks and Recreation maintains the parks of Hillsborough and Flagtown and provides recreation programs for youth, adults, and seniors.
