Pedestrian struck by car on Route 33

A 22-year-old Hightstown man suffered significant injuries after he was struck by a Honda Accord as he was attempting to cross Route 33 on Nov. 19, according to the East Windsor Police Department.

The Honda Accord, which was being driven by a 32-year-old Hightstown man, was traveling west on Route 33 near Probasco Road when the driver struck the pedestrian who was trying to cross the highway in a north-to-south direction, police said.

East Windsor police officers and an off-duty New Jersey State Police trooper gave medical aid to the pedestrian until Capital Health Systems emergency medical technicians and paramedics arrived.

The pedestrian was taken to Capital Health Regional Medical Center for treatment.

The East Windsor Police Department, Capital Health Systems personnel, the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office’s Serious Collision Response Team, the New Jersey State Police and East Windsor Volunteer Fire Co. No. 2 responded to the scene. The incident is under investigation.
