



Every year, the Princeton Police Department gathers as a community to honor Patrolman Walter Harris’ bravery, selflessness, and unwavering commitment to protecting others. On February 2, 1946, Patrolman Walter Harris made the ultimate sacrifice. Upon hearing gunfire near his home, he responded without hesitation, displaying the courage and dedication that defined his three years with the Princeton Borough Police Department. Tragically, he was shot and killed that night. Harris’ legacy lives on in the hearts of those he served, and his sacrifice will never be forgotten.
