Man charged with burglary and criminal mischief

A 20-year-old Princeton man has been charged with burglary, criminal mischief and theft for allegedly breaking into a shed on Witherspoon Street and vandalizing it on April 20, according to the Princeton Police Department.

Police responded to a park on Witherspoon Street to investigate an incident of criminal mischief to the shed. Upon arrival, police officers met with the caller and a witness, who reported seeing a group of young Hispanic men splattering black paint on the shed.

The investigation revealed that the men allegedly broke into the shed and stole black acrylic paint, which they used to splatter onto the shed, police said.

Witnesses provided photographs they had taken of two of the suspects. One of the suspects was found walking on Witherspoon Street and was arrested.

He was processed and released.
