A victim was scammed out of $5,250 after he purchased eBay, Target and Apple gift cards at the request of a caller who pretended to be his employer’s CEO. The victim provided the gift card access codes to the suspect via a text message, and then realized he had been scammed. The incident was reported Jan. 17.

A 43-year-old Princeton man was charged with criminal trespass, criminal mischief and defiant trespass after he allegedly attempted to enter a Clay Street residence Jan. 15. He allegedly knocked on the doors and windows of the residence. He allegedly climbed part way into the residence after opening a rear window. He was processed and taken to the Mercer County Correction Center.

A group of four shoplifters stole an assortment of clothing valued at a combined $18,820 from a store on Hulfish Street Jan. 14. They left the store and got into a gray Jeep. Surveillance video showed a fifth suspect getting out of the Jeep and urinating prior to the theft. Police searched the area, but could not find them.

A thief stole a package containing a Macbook Air laptop computer valued at $899 from the front porch of a Hun Road home just after it was delivered by a FedEx employee Jan. 14. Police searched the area for a suspect, but with no success.

A 38-year-old Princeton man was charged with defiant trespass after he was found to be trespassing on Princeton Housing Authority property after having been advised of his persona non grata (PNG) (not welcome) status Jan. 14.
