On Sunday, Nov. 24, volunteers will host the 57th annual free Thanksgiving dinner at PeopleCare Center for Nonprofits at 120 Finderne Ave, Bridgewater.

Families and individuals in need are invited to enjoy a sit-down meal at no cost from 12:30-2:30 p.m. Vegetarian options will be available. Free winter clothing, socks, and hygiene items will also be given out.

The event is sponsored by SAFE: Somerville Alliance for Food Education in partnership with The Food Bank Network of Somerset County, PeopleCare Center for Nonprofits, and Leap to Shine. SAFE and Revive Consignment Shop are partnering to collect coats and other winterwear; Elite Dance Center and Life Time Bridgewater are collecting nonperishable food items; and JK Design is organizing an Essentials Drive on Amazon.com for dinner guests in need of socks and hygiene items.

Homemade desserts will be provided by local Girl Scouts, and tables will be adorned with festive centerpieces made by students at Bridgewater-Raritan Middle School.

“We encourage everyone in the community to donate, volunteer, or join us as a guest for this annual Thanksgiving tradition—now in its 57th year,” said Betty Krupka, SAFE president and one of the lead organizers of the event. “We’re very thankful for the many people who make it possible for us to continue serving our neighbors in need.”

Donations can be made through SAFE & JK’s Amazon wishlist at bit.ly/Essentials-Drive or through PayPal at bit.ly/SAFE-Meal. Drop off gently used or new coats, gloves, hats, and scarves at Revive Consignment Shop, 30 S Doughty Ave, Somerville. Nonperishable food items can be brought to Elite Dance Center, 114 North Gaston Ave, Somerville and Life Time, 145 Commons Way, Bridgewater.
