The Watershed Institute’s Annual Butterfly Festival will continue its tradition of fun, butterflies, and hands-on learning when the festival returns this weekend for its 24th year.

When residents and visitors travel to the Watershed Institute in Pennington on Aug. 3, they will not only be able to get up close and personal with butterflies, but participate in arts and crafts, touch fish, visit the Insect Zoo and enjoy the Eyes of the Wild Animal Show.

There are two sessions during the day for the festival – 9:30 a.m. to noon and 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Close to 1,200 people attended the festival last year as children and families were able to enjoy the Kate Gorrie Butterfly House, hayrides, and the Butterfly and Bug Parade. All of which will be available to enjoy and take part this year.
