In TMS’s Cutting Hair Because We Care, students could donate hair for Maggie’s Wigs 4 Kids, an organization providing wigs and support services at no charge to children and young adults experiencing hair loss or participate in St. Baldrick’s Foundation annual head-shaving event.

For St. Baldrick’s head-shaving event volunteers or “shavees” as they call them try to get pledges in exchange for shaving their heads for the fundraiser. Team Timberlane raised more than $28,000 in the event.

The fundraiser supports the foundation, which raises money for childhood cancer research and is in its 25th year. St. Baldrick’s has been able to provide $356 million in grants to fund research.

According to the organization, one of every five children that are diagnosed with cancer will not survive.
