Hopewell Borough is appropriating approximately $200,000 from American Rescue Plan (ARP) federal funds towards the improvements and repairs to the borough’s Department of Public Works (DPW) facility.
The ARP funds are part of the funding for the improvements.
The capital project for the DPW facility will be between $1.6 million to $1.8 million, according to Borough Administrator Doug Walker.
“This is to finally give our public works folks some facilities they need,” Councilman David Mackie said. “This is not the full project.”
Hopewell Borough Council members adopted an ordinance appropriating $199,500 in ARP funds for long needed repairs and improvements to the public works facility such as plumbing at a meeting on June 6
Mayor Ryan Kennedy said that potentially in August the borough will have a presentation from their architect on the specific improvements the borough is seeking at the facility.
