Mercer County Moms Demand Action is a grassroots movement seeking to raise awareness about the impacts of gun violence and keeping families safe.

“Gun violence is a tragic reality nationwide, with more than 120 Americans killed each day,” Mironov said. “‘National Gun Violence Awareness Day,’ is an opportunity to focus together to honor and remember all victims and survivors of gun violence and to recommit ourselves to doing all that we can to reduce the impacts of senseless gun violence in our community and in our nation.

“Irregardless of anyone’s views, there are many things we all can agree on and do, such
as responsibly using gun locks when storing weapons,” Mironov added.

The mayoral proclamation issued states, “Americans are 26 times more likely to die by gun homicide than people in higher-income nations. The township renews our commitment to reduce gun violence and pledge to do all we can to keep firearms out of the wrong hands, and encourage responsible gun ownership to help keep all of our citizens and children safer.”
