Barbara Ann Glasby, 77

Evans Funeral Home of Jefferson announces the death of Mrs. Barbara Ann Glasby, age 77, of Hoschton, Georgia, who passed away on Saturday, June 1, 2024. Mrs. Glasby was born in Brooklyn, NY, a daughter to the late Marvin Burch and the late Margaret Lewis Hadley. Mrs. Glasby was a Homemaker and an Administrative Assistant. She was extremely proud to be from Brooklyn, NY, so much so that it was a part of every conversation she had with anyone at anytime. During her time growing up there it was very rich in ethnic culture, which she loved, and she enjoyed the various foods she was introduced to. One of her fondest memories was going to her local Delicatessen and ordering an “egg cream”. If you don’t know what that is, you can use this link to check it out: An Ode to the Egg Cream.

Survivors include her husband, Billy Glasby of Hoschton; daughter, Jennifer Iski and her fiance’ Wayne Bollentin of Hoschton as well as her grandson, Christopher Myrick; Stepson, Mark Glasby and his wife Jessica Glasby and their two children, Hannah and Luna Glasby of Portland, Oregon; Sister, Joan Burch of Hoschton.

She was preceded in death by her stepdaughter, Colleen Glasby; her stepfather, John Hadley and her daughter, Cheryl Iski.

In accordance with her wishes, Mrs. Glasby was cremated and a private Memorial Service will take place at Hoschton United Methodist Church 12 Mulberry Street Hoschton, Georgia 30548, on Sunday June 30th at 2 pm with Pastor Marvin Mason and Pastor Luis Ortiz officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Jackson County Humane Society.
