A victim reported an incident of fraud and theft on Sept. 9 involving a license plate that had been on his Honda vehicle when he sold it to Carvana in July. He was unable to remove the front license plate, but he surrendered the rear license plate to the New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission and requested that the registration to be deactivated. He later received a parking citation from the Albany Police Department in New York that involved his former license plate, which was displayed on a vehicle that he did not own. The Albany Police Department was notified and the license plate was entered into a law enforcement database as stolen.
A Trenton man was arrested on several active warrants from the City of Trenton after police responded to the 100 Forge apartment complex, off Federal City Road, to investigate a dispute on Sept. 6. He was processed and released.
A Lawrenceville man was arrested on an active warrant from the Fanwood Municipal Court after he was stopped by police near the Pennington Circle on Sept. 6 for an expired inspection sticker. He was also issued a summons for failure to inspect. He was processed and released.
A Trenton man was arrested on an active warrant from the City of Trenton following a motor vehicle stop for a tinted windshield and no front license plate on Pennington Road on Sept. 5. He was also issued summonses for tinted windows, driving while unlicensed and driving while suspended. He was processed and released.
A victim reported on Sept. 4 that someone had gained access to their credit card account and used a digital card number to make unauthorized purchases. The victim’s checking account was linked to the credit card and money was withdrawn to pay down the credit card balance. Also, Capital One and Kohl’s credit card accounts were opened in the victim’s name without authorization.
Someone stole a purse and its contents from an unlocked vehicle parked at the 100 Forge apartment complex, off Federal City Road, overnight between Aug. 31 and Sept. 1. The purse contained the victim’s driver’s license, credit cards and $2,000 in cash.
A Lambertville-Hopewell Road resident reported on Sept. 1 that a bathroom vanity valued at $2,400 had been stolen. It had been delivered to her home in two boxes on Aug. 20, but the boxes had been left outside near the driveway because the house was undergoing renovation. Someone opened the boxes and took the vanity. The theft is believed to have occurred between Aug. 24 and Aug. 30.
A Hamilton Township woman was arrested on an active warrant from Plainsboro Township after she was stopped by police on Scotch Road on Aug. 30. She was also charged with driving while suspended. She was processed and released.
A Pennington man was charged with driving under the influence on Aug. 29 at 3:08 a.m. Police noticed a vehicle in the park lot of the Lukoil gas station at the Pennington Circle. Its lights were on and it was parked on an angle across two parking spaces. The man was given additional summonses for reckless driving and failure to inspect. He was processed and released.
A Trenton man was arrested on an active warrant from Jackson Township following a motor vehicle stop on Jacobs Creek Road for a tinted windshield on Aug. 28. He was processed and released.
