The Watershed Institute is pleased to announce the appointment of four exceptional leaders to its Board of Trustees: Eugenia Erlij, Shawn M. LaTourette, Bryce Roberts, and Andrew Sidamon-Eristoff. Each brings a unique blend of expertise spanning environmental policy, corporate strategy, law, finance, and innovation—strengthening the Watershed’s ability to advance its mission of protecting and restoring water resources across the region.
Eugenia Erlij joins the Board with a distinguished career in global strategy, marketing, and organizational transformation. Currently an Associate with Change Logic, a strategy and transformation consultancy, she works closely with CEOs and senior leadership teams to drive innovation and growth. Ms. Erlij has held leadership roles across multiple industries, including specialty chemicals, food and beverage, retail, and consulting, with experience spanning North and South America, Europe, and Asia. At Innophos, she built the company’s marketing and communications function from the ground up, spearheaded digital transformation initiatives, and led the development of its first ESG Annual Report. Her earlier work at Ashland and McKinsey & Company reflects a consistent track record of driving growth, operational efficiency, and strategic change. Fluent in Spanish and deeply experienced in global markets, Ms. Erlij brings valuable perspective on sustainability, communications, and innovation.
Shawn M. LaTourette is an environmental lawyer, policymaker, and strategist with more than 25 years of leadership in environmental law, public policy, and sustainable development. He most recently served as Commissioner and CEO of the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) from 2021 to 2026, where he led a workforce of over 3,400, managed a $1.2 billion budget, and directed the deployment of $6.75 billion in infrastructure investments for water systems, climate resilience, and natural resource protection while advancing environmental justice and addressing critical challenges such as PFAS contamination and lead exposure. A nationally recognized expert in environmental governance, water quality, and sustainability, Shawn now serves as a shareholder in the Global Environmental Practice at Greenberg Traurig, LLP, where he helps clients deliver major infrastructure and commercial projects, navigate complex disputes, manage risk, respond to crises, and advance their development and sustainability goals, and he also serves as an adjunct professor at Rutgers Law School, designing and teaching courses on Environmental Justice and Climate Change Law & Policy. His deep understanding of water resource management and regulatory systems will be instrumental to the Watershed’s work.
Bryce Roberts contributes extensive experience in biopharmaceutical law, corporate development, and nonprofit leadership. As co-founder and Senior Vice President of Operations and Legal at Xenagos Bio, Inc., and a consultant to emerging biotech companies, he has guided organizations from early-stage formation through financing, public offerings, and mergers. Mr. Roberts previously served as Chief Legal Officer of OnCore Biopharma and held senior leadership roles at Pharmasset, which was acquired by Gilead Sciences in a landmark $11 billion transaction following the development of a cure for hepatitis C. In addition to his professional accomplishments, he is deeply engaged in community and philanthropic efforts, including co-founding Empower Youth Honduras, a nonprofit supporting youth development and education. A local business owner as co-operator of a peony farm in Hopewell Valley, Mr. Roberts brings both global industry insight and strong community ties.
Andrew Sidamon-Eristoff adds decades of experience in public finance, taxation, and government leadership. His distinguished public service includes roles as New Jersey State Treasurer, New York State Commissioner of Taxation and Finance, and Commissioner of the New York City Department of Finance, as well as service on the New York City Council. In these positions, he oversaw complex fiscal systems, advanced policy reforms, and helped guide large-scale government operations. Currently a private investor, consultant, and board member for several nonprofit and civic organizations, Mr. Sidamon-Eristoff has remained actively engaged in issues related to governance, conservation, and public policy. His experience in financial stewardship and public-sector leadership will support the Institute’s long-term sustainability and strategic growth.
Together, these four new trustees reflect the breadth of expertise needed to address today’s complex environmental challenges. Their leadership will help The Watershed Institute expand its impact, strengthen community partnerships, and continue its work to protect clean water and healthy ecosystems for generations to come.
