An Alta Vista Drive woman fell victim to a bank scam and lost $2,000, according to the Hopewell Township Police Department.

The woman told police on Oct. 19 that she had received calls from two men who identified themselves as employees of PNC Bank’s fraud services. They asked that money be sent through Bitcoin for additional fraud services through PNC Bank.

She believed that the callers were trustworthy and complied with their request. She was told to drive to a Citgo gas station in another town to send the money. Soon after she wired the funds, she realized that she had been scammed.
