Construction on the Hamilton and Pearl Street Improvement Project has been delayed until the end of this week or Monday, July 13.
The borough’s Hamilton Street and Pearl Street Improvement Project has been delayed and is now anticipated to begin later this week or on Monday, July 13.
The infrastructure project will include milling and paving of both streets, along with base repairs where needed. Additional improvements will include the replacement of cracked or heaved sidewalks, deteriorated curbing, manhole frames and covers, and roadway signage. Any disturbances to adjacent properties resulting from construction activities will be restored to their pre-construction condition.
The contractor is permitted to work Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. To minimize disruptions to residents, no noise-generating construction activities will occur before 8 a.m. No roadway improvement work is permitted on weekends or holidays.
Any Saturday work will be limited to privately owned lead service line replacements and is not associated with the roadway improvement project.
During construction, residents are asked to remove vehicles from Hamilton Street and Pearl Street to allow crews to complete the work safely and efficiently. Alternative parking is available at the Pearl Street parking lot, the Church Street parking lot, any municipal parking space, and any borough or county roadway where parking is permitted.
The borough appreciates the community’s patience and cooperation as these improvements are completed. These upgrades will enhance roadway conditions, improve pedestrian safety, and contribute to the overall appearance and functionality of the neighborhood for years to come.
