A 27-year-old Northfield man was charged with driving while intoxicated after he was stopped by police after he was observed committing several motor vehicle violations at the intersection of Nassau Street and Stockton Street at 1:52 a.m. Sept. 7. He was also charged with improper turn, failure to keep right and failure to use a turn signal. He was processed and released.
A 61-year-old Princeton woman was arrested on active warrants from Mount Laurel Township and the Moorestown Municipal Court totaling $4,750 on Sept. 7. Police were sent to investigate a suspicious person and found the woman inside a Nassau Street apartment building lobby without permission. She was processed and released.
Two suspects cut the locks on two bicycles on Theater Drive on the Princeton University campus and fled on Sept. 6. Police found one of the suspects who had one of the bicycles in his possession nearby. He admitted to stealing it. The Princeton University Department of Public Safety also responded and took possession of the bicycle. No charges have been filed, pending completion of the PUDPS investigation.
Thieves shattered the front glass door to a business on Witherspoon Street and stole 75 designer handbags within one minute of entering the store on Sept. 1. Police responded to the business after receiving an activated commercial burglar alarm, but the suspects had fled before police arrived.
Someone tossed a large piece of concrete through a window on the east side of a school building on Walnut Lane. Damage in the incident, which occurred between Aug. 31 and Sept. 1, was estimated at $1,000.
A 24-year-old Ewing Township man was arrested on an active warrant for $650 issued by the West Windsor Township Municipal Court following a motor vehicle stop on Lawrenceville Road/Route 206 on Aug. 31. He was found to have a suspended driver’s license and expired vehicle registration. He was also issued a summons for driving while suspended. He was processed and released.
A 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee was reported stolen from its owner’s driveway on Ewing Street on Aug. 29 and later recovered in Piscataway. There was no damage to the Jeep, which was returned to Princeton for processing.
A vandal wrote an offensive racial slur on a classroom whiteboard in a building at the former Westminster Choir College campus on Walnut Lane. Additional graffiti was observed on a hallway wall in the incident, which was reported Aug. 27.
A Dodds Lane man was scammed out of $16,880 after he received a phone call from individuals who pretended to members of the Mercer County police. The callers claimed he had outstanding warrants for missing jury duty and demanded that he pay $17,000 in cash to avoid being arrested. He withdrew $16,880 from his bank account and deposited in a Bitcoin kiosk in Trenton. He realized he had been scammed and reported it to police on Aug. 26.
