A 47-year-old Princeton man was charged with driving while intoxicated after he crashed his vehicle into a light pole at the intesection of Faculty Road and Elm Drive before coming to rest on a grassy area along Faculty Road at 1:41 a.m. Sept. 27. He was also issued summonses for reckless driving, careless driving, leaving the scene of an accident, failure to report an accident and abandonment of a vehicle on private property. He was processed and released.

A Nassau Street business lost $91.08 after two men conspired in a forgery and theft incident that occurred on Sept. 27. One man provided the clerk with a $100 bill for a purchase and received $91.05 in change. After the cashier stepped away from the cash register, the second man took the $100 bill and replaced it with five counterfeit $20 bills. The suspects left the store, resulting in a monetary loss of $91.08 to the store.

A suspect flimflammed a Nassau Street business out of $140 in an incident of forgery, theft by deception and criminal simulation on Sept. 26. A man used counterfeit $20 bills during a currency exchange, and through a series of transactions, left the business with $140 in legitimate currency.

The resident of an apartment complex on Terhune Road reported the theft of a Specialized S-Works Enduro bicycle, which is a high performance carbon-frame all mountain and enduro racing bicycle, from a bicycle rack. The bicycle was valued at $10,000. The theft, which was reported on Sept. 25, occurred between Sept. 11 and Sept. 24. A $40 bike lock also was reported stolen.

A metal lock box and $10,000 in cash were reported stolen from a Greenland Court home on Sept. 25. The cash and the box were taken from a secured basement room.

A thief took a gold chain with a Star of David and an anchor pendant from a Bank Street residence sometime on Sept. 23. The jewelry was valued at $5,000. The theft was reported on Sept. 25.

A shoplifter took six clothing items valued at a combined $768 from a Hulfish Street store on Sept. 25.

Items valued at a combined $24 were reported stolen by a shoplifter at a Nassau Street business on Sept. 24. The theft occurred on Sept. 23.

A 61-year-old Princeton woman was charged with shoplifting on Sept. 24 for allegedly taking grocery items valued at $30.03 from a grocery store on North Harrison Street. The incident occurred on Sept. 22. She was processed and turned over to the Mercer County Correctional Center.

A 38-year-old Elizabeth woman was charged with driving while intoxicated after a police officer observed the vehicle that she was driving had a damaged tire, and also dis regarded traffic signals on Nassau Street at 11:43 p.m. on Sept. 24. She was also issued summonses for reckless driving, careless driving, failure to observe a traffic control device, failure to possess a driving insurance card, unsafe vehicle, tire equipment and failure to pull over for an emergency vehicle. She was processed and released.
