Members of the Old Bridge Township Police Department were honored to attend Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital’s Trauma Survivor Day on May 21.
The meaningful event recognized the healthcare professionals, 911 dispatchers, and law enforcement officers whose actions helped save the lives of individuals who suffered serious traumatic injuries, according to a post on the township police department’s Facebook page.
Old Bridge Township Police officers Marc DeMaio, Nicholas Endaz, and Christopher Schwartz, and 911 Dispatcher Megan Crawford were recognized for their lifesaving actions in response to a stabbing incident that occurred in September of 2025. Through their quick response and immediate medical aid, they played a critical role in stabilizing the victim before advanced medical care could be provided. Medical professionals advised that without the officers’ immediate intervention, the victim likely would not have survived.
“We are extremely proud of the professionalism, courage, and dedication demonstrated by these members of our department,” the post stated. “Their actions exemplify the commitment to service and protection that our officers and dispatchers provide every day.”
Also recognized were EMTs Nicole Shankle and Courtney Vogt with the RWJBarnabas ALS (Advanced Life Support) team and Supervisor Kenneth McLaughlin, Greg Videla, Dawn Luhrs, Jean Charles Prophete and Nick Kuznetsov with Old Bridge BLS (Basic Life Support) team.
