Trenton to mark 25th anniversary of 9/11 with memorial run and bike ride

The City of Trenton will mark the 25th anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks Friday with a memorial ceremony followed by a 9.11-mile run and bike ride through the city.

Mayor W. Reed Gusciora and the Trenton Department of Fire & Emergency Services, in partnership with the Trenton VFW, will host the Sept. 11 Memorial Run & Bike Around the City on Friday, Sept. 11.

The remembrance ceremony will begin at 8:30 a.m. at Trenton Fire Department Headquarters, 244 S. Perry St. The run and bike ride will begin at 9 a.m.

The 9.11-mile route will travel through Trenton and pass all seven city firehouses.

City officials said the event is intended to remember those who died in the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks and recognize the service and sacrifice of first responders.
