Congresswoman Bonnie Watson Coleman (NJ-12) announced $500,000 in federal funding to support Old Bridge Food Bank for building improvements.

The Old Bridge Food Bank assists families and individuals in the fight against food insecurity and develops partnerships with other organizations and agencies to provide people with fresh produce, bread, milk, and eggs as well as necessary toiletries. Watson Coleman was joined by Old Bridge Mayor Eleanor “Debbie” Walker, Business Administrator Anahita Feltz, Director of Public Words Kasey Lenning, Director of Parks & Recreation and Social Services Matt Mercurio, Food Bank Manager Kristin Agunbiade, Food Bank Coordinator Leah Marke, as well as volunteers.

“As New Jersey’s lone appropriator in Congress, it is my responsibility to ensure that New Jersey’s 12th Congressional District receives its share of government resources,” Watson Coleman said. “Far too many families are struggling to make ends meet. As the cost of groceries continues to rise, keeping food on the table is one of our toughest and most important challenges. I’m proud to work with Old Bridge’s Food Bank to close the gap for families in need.”

In addition to the building improvements at the Old Bridge Food Bank, 14 other organizations and projects in New Jersey’s 12th District will receive federal community project funding to be put towards infrastructure improvements, environmental protections, community safety, recreation, modernization and more. In the fiscal year 2026 budget, Watson Coleman has secured a total of $16,530,000 for projects in the 12th district.
