The Friends and Foundation of Princeton Public Library announced that acclaimed best-selling author Min Jin Lee will be the featured speaker at its ‘Beyond Words’ fundraising event on Thursday, October 1, 2026.
In a major scheduling coup, the library secured one of the first stops on Lee’s national author tour. The appearance comes two days after the release of her highly anticipated third novel, ‘American Hagwon’, which will be published by Cardinal/Grand Central Publishing on September 29, 2026.
Min Jin Lee’s critically lauded epic ‘Pachinko’ sold over 1 million copies in the U.S. and became a finalist for the National Book Award, before being adapted by Apple+ and voted one of the “100 Best Books of the 21st Century” by the New York Times.
Lee returns this Fall with ‘American Hagwon’, a sweeping exploration of education, ambition, and Korean identity. Her work is celebrated for emotionally riveting narratives that capture personal struggles and the enduring complexities of family relationships.
“We are delighted to welcome Min Jin Lee to Princeton for our signature fundraiser, Beyond Words,” said Sohini Rath, president of the Friends and Foundation. “Hosting an author of her stature while the ink is barely dry on her newest masterpiece is a massive triumph for our community and a testament to Princeton Public Library’s enduring dedication to world-class literature.”
Details about tickets for the author talk and tickets for the VIP reception with Min Jin Lee will be announced this summer. Early inquiries regarding corporate sponsorships can be directed to friendsandfoundation@princetonlibrary.org.
