Put the phone down. Keep your eyes on the road. Help save lives.

What Is Distracted Driving?

Distracted driving is any activity that takes your attention away from driving, including:

  • Talking or texting on your phone
  • Eating or drinking
  • Adjusting your stereo, GPS, or entertainment system
  • Talking to passengers
  • Texting is especially dangerous. Sending or reading a text takes your eyes off the road for about five seconds. At 55 miles per hour, that’s like driving the length of an entire football field with your eyes closed.

Stay Focused. Stay Safe. You cannot drive safely unless driving has your full attention. Any distraction increases your risk of a crash.
