The race for three, three-year terms on the school board will be uncontested when Cranbury voters cast their ballots for this Nov. 5 general election.
Incumbents Katherine Lara and Emma Bossard are seeking their second, three-year terms on Cranbury Township Board of Education. Candidate Melissa Marschner is looking to earn her first term on the school board.
School board Vice President Dominique Jones is not seeking re-election.
In-person early voting begins this weekend on Oct. 26.
Lara was first elected in 2021. While on the school board she is the chair of the school boards Personnel Committee; on the Curriculum Committee; Operations, Facilities, Finance Committee; the PTO Liaison, and also the New Jersey School Boards Association (NJSBA) Delegate.
Bossard was first elected in 2021. On the school board, she serves as the chair of the Policy Committee. Additionally, Bossard is on Referendum Committee, Community Engagement Committee, and serves as the Library Board representative.
Bossard was born and raised in the Cranbury Station Hamlet and currently works as health plan operations lead at GetCoveredNJ. She has a master’s degree in social work and began her professional work with a focus on at-risk youth as well as individuals with developmental disabilities. She was also the director of admissions at The Elms of Cranbury nursing facility.
Marschner looks to earn her first three-year term on the board. She currently works as an attorney for Marschner Professional Services LLC.
Marschner attended Rutgers University and received her Bachelor of Arts degree. She went on to receive her law degree from Seton Hall University School of Law. She is a trustee at the American Repertory Ballet and a member of the New Jersey Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts.
