“The Hillsborough Township Committee is a worthy recipient of this year’s award,” said Kathryn Monzo, president of the NJMMA and business administrator for the Township of Hamilton.

“Through their Hillsborough Leadership Program as well as their support of cross-training efforts for staff, and their investment in trainers and workshops all point to the many ways the Hillsborough Township Committee represents consistent support of their management and the development of their careers.”

The Hillsborough Township Committee includes Mayor Robert Britting Jr., Deputy Mayor John Ciccarelli, Committeewoman Samantha Hand, Committeeman Shawn Lipani and Committeewoman Catherine Payne.

“The Hillsborough Township Committee has demonstrated exceptional commitment and initiative in fostering the growth and advancement of its employees through innovative programs and comprehensive training efforts,” added Hillsborough Township Administrator Anthony Ferrera.

Programs include the Hillsborough Leadership Program (HLP), the Hillsborough Employee Activities Recognition Team (H.E.A.R.T), Employee of the Month, and High Five peer recognition programs, and a floater program designed to provide essential coverage while supporting the introduction or reintroduction of individuals into the workforce on a part-time basis.

The Hillsborough Township Committee’s dedication to professional development has profoundly impacted employee morale and productivity. This supportive environment has increased job satisfaction, higher retention rates, and a more dynamic and capable workforce, according to NJMMA.

“The Hillsborough Township Committee has been instrumental in supporting the implementation of programs designed to help staff grow professionally and exceed expectations,” Mayor Robert Britting, Jr. said. “It’s gratifying to watch careers develop over time and an honor to receive this award.”

Each year NJMMA honors members for outstanding service to local government. The Hillsborough Township Committee will be honored at the annual awards luncheon during the annual League of Municipalities meeting in Atlantic City, held at the Sheraton Hotel in Crown Ballrooms 1 and 2 at noon on Wednesday, Nov. 20.
