Various Hopewell Township capital projects such as roadway and municipal building improvements are set to move forward with $1.73 million in municipal funding.
The Hopewell Township Committee gave the greenlight by adopting an ordinance on July 13 appropriating $1.73 million from the township Capital Improvement Fund to fund capital improvement projects for the township.
The township will utilize $600,000 for improvements to township roadways, and $400,000 towards improvements to township buildings which include ceiling grid and tile replacements, and HVAC system design.
There is another $400,000 in the appropriation to cover improvements to the township municipal complex and municipal buildings for roadways, driveways, parking lots, curbing, sidewalks, stairways, and fencing.
Additionally, officials will use $280,000 to purchase equipment for the Public Works Department which include a trailer mounted leaf collector, a pick-up truck, a metal dumpster for a hook truck and outside accessory shed.
They are also set to utilize $50,000 for a cricket pitch design in an effort to expand recreation options for residents and visitors.
