The Hopewell Township Committee has reduced the speed limit to 35 miles per hour (mph) northbound on Federal City Road and north/south on Blackwell Road.

Township Committee members voted to adopt an ordinance on July 13 reducing the speed limits from 45 and 40 mph to 35 mph as a first step to adding an all-way stop at the intersection of Federal City Road and Blackwell Road.

The township seeks to establish an all-way stop at the intersection of Federal City Road and Blackwell Road to improve safety for residents and travelers.

For northbound on Federal City Road, 35 mph for vehicular vehicles will be from Lawrenceville-Pennington Road to Blackwell Road.

When the reduced speed limit comes to Blackwell Road the limit will extend from the Hopewell Township and Mercer County jurisdiction line to the Hopewell Township and Lawrence Township jurisdiction line.
