An East Orange man was arrested on active warrants from Passaic, Bloomfield and Harrison following a motor vehicle stop on Bear Tavern Road on July 1. He was also issued a motor vehicle summons for failure to have his vehicle inspected. He was processed and released.
A Route 31 resident reported the theft of a wooden playhouse from the front yard of his home on June 28. The playhouse was valued at $341.19.
A Trenton man was arrested on active warrants from Trenton after a police officer was sent to investigate a vehicle that was stopped in the roadway in the area of Route 31 and Search Avenue on June 24. Two men who were with the vehicle told the officer that it was disabled. When the officer checked the owner’s driver’s license, it was discovered that he had outstanding warrants from Trenton. He was processed and released.
Construction material consisting of lumber, sheet metal and wire was reported stolen from a property on Pennington-Harbourton Road. The theft, which was reported on June 22, occurred within the last three months. The material was valued at $275.
A victim reported multiple unauthorized transactions on her TDBank account totaling $6,553.13, beginning in January. She believes the fraudulent activity began after her husband responded to a text message from Verizon that asked if he wanted to make a payment on their account. The text message turned out to be false. The incident was reported on June 22.
A Kingston woman was arrested on an active warrant from Middlesex County following a motor vehicle stop on East Broad Street on June 22. She was also issued a summons for failure to have her vehicle inspected. She was processed and taken to the Mercer County Correction Center on the active warrant.
A North Greenwood Avenue resident reported on June 21 that two watches, valued at a combined $17,000, were stolen from his home within the past year. He rents out the house on Airbnb and was uncertain when the watches were taken or by whom in the incident.
A Somerville man was charged with shoplifting and a Trenton woman was charged with conspiracy to commit shoplifting on June 20. The man entered Stop & Shop and loaded up a shopping cart with soap and energy drinks valued at $536.65 on June 5 and left the store without paying. He got into a vehicle with New Jersey license plates and fled. A follow-up investigation revealed that the Trenton woman was the owner of the vehicle, and charges were filed against the man and the woman.
A Hopewell Township man was arrested on an active warrant from East Windsor Township following a motor vehicle stop on Pennington Road on June 20. He was processed and released after posting bail.
A Willingboro man was charged with eluding police and other motor vehicle violations on June 20, following an investigation into a driver who led police on pursuits in Hopewell Township and other municipalities in New Jersey and Pennsylvania on June 17. The driver was subsequently identified with the help of the Lumberton Police Department.
