The Hopewell Valley Arts Council’s Amazing Pumpkin Carve returns for its 12th year.
The four-day event features live entertainment, craft beer, a kid’s climbing zone and jumbo sandbox, farm animals, and – of course – the stars of the show: giant pumpkins, outrageously carved by local artists.
Event hours will be Thursday, Oct. 8: 7 to 9 p.m.; Friday, Oct. 9: 3 to 9 p.m.; Saturday, Oct. 10: noon to 9 p.m.; and Sunday, Oct. 11: noon to 6 p.m.
“The Carve always brings our community together in such a wonderful way, and we’re thrilled to be back for our twelfth year,” said Carol Lipson, executive director of the Hopewell Valley Arts Council. “From the over-the-top pumpkins to the simple pleasures of the season, the Carve celebrates local creativity, quality time with friends and family, and all that makes fall special.”
Due to construction of a new pavilion at Woolsey Park, the beloved fall tradition is moving to a new location this year: Needle Creek Farm Brewery in Pennington.
“We’re so excited to host the Carve at Needle Creek,” said Gregg Marantz, one of Needle Creek’s owners/operators. “Just 10 minutes away from the usual location, Needle Creek is a beautiful countryside setting with plenty of indoor and outdoor family attractions – the perfect place to showcase these amazing pumpkins.”
Needle Creek will be open exclusively for Pumpkin Carve guests during Carve hours.
Attractions include: 30 250-pound pumpkins carved by local artists; 75-acre working farm with cows, goats, pigs and miniature donkeys; 10 varieties of craft beer made and served in a historic wood-frame barn; food trucks and live entertainment daily; farm-grown flowers and pumpkins for sale; general store: snacks, candy, ice-cream and non-alcoholic drinks; and optional add-ons: face painting and Spooky Corn Maze.
“The Carve is a place where the whole family can enjoy the fall season together,” Lipson said. “Join us this October 8th-11th to make some memories and enjoy this one-of-a-kind Hopewell tradition.”
The Amazing Pumpkin Carve is made possible thanks to a growing list of generous sponsors including Capital Health, Princeton Financial Partners/RBC, Bloomberg Philanthropies, Hopewell Crossing Shopping Center, Trap Rock Industries, Delis Landscaping, Seward Johnson Atelier, and NJM Insurance Group.
This support helps fund the Arts Council’s ongoing arts programs throughout the year.
