World Water Day: A focus on glacier preservation

The Watershed Institute celebrated the importance of water with return of its World Water Day event.

Joining others across the globe the Watershed Center in Pennington observed World Water Day with adults, children, advocates, and educators on March 22.

This year’s World Water Day, which is a United Nations initiative shining a light on water importance, had a key focus on glacier preservation.

Exhibits and demonstrations were held spotlighting water conservation, renewable energy, and eco-friendly practices.

Additionally, there were interactive hands-on activities and demonstrations.

For the past four years, the Watershed Institute has held a day of giving in honor of World Water Day to help organization with its mission and advocacy to protect and restore the water and natural environment in central New Jersey.

In 2025, they set a goal of $20,000. With 87 donors the organization raised $21,216.
