The woman passenger woke up the driver, and both were instructed to get out of the truck.

The police officer noticed signs of narcotics activity, and the Robbinsville Township Police Department responded with its K-9 unit. The dog gave a positive indication to the presence of narcotics. A search of the truck revealed suspected heroin and drug paraphernalia.

The two suspects were charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and being under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance.

The man was also charged with driving under the influence, careless driving, reckless driving, having a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle and driving with a suspended commercial driver’s license.

The woman was also charged with hindering apprehension for providing the officer with a fake name. She was also found to be wanted on active warrants from Toms River, Lawrence, Robbinsville and Brick Township.

They were processed and released.
